Antibodies to Scl-70 appear more often in diffuse (40%) systemic scleroderma, less often in limited (20%) forms, CREST-syndrome. The detection of anti-Scl-70 serves as an unfavorable prognostic marker in these autoimmune diseases due to the development of pulmonary fibrosis.

How to Prepare for the Test
• empty stomach at least 8-12 hours
• use water on a daily basis
• avoid from food abuse the day before exclude fatty food 24 hours before the test
• exclude alcohol from diet 24 hours before the test
• 2-3 days after CT, mammography, radiation examination
• children under 1 year old should not eat 30-40 minutes before sampling
• children from 1 to 5 years old should not eat 2-3 hours before sampling.
